Relaxed Rather Than Energized?

Since joining "Ready For Summer Challenge" I've been increasing my walks and exercise routines.  I walk about 10 minutes everyday at work very briskly before lunch. I also started to use a free app. that builds your stamina on the treadmill. What I've noticed is that after these brisk workouts I feel incredibly relaxed. Like just wanting to lay down, take a deep breath and peacefully take a long relaxing nap feeling.  I always thought exercise energized you.  I am NOT an exerciser! I know I should be for health reasons and the obvious healthy weight reason, but I do not particularly like to exercise so this feeling baffles me.  I googled, "why do I feel so relaxed after exercising rather than energized"?  In a word, endorphins I was told.  Which does explain why I'm kind of peaceful and just want to take a deep breath and let the world pass on by feeling!

How do you feel after working out?

Make one good choice today, it can lead to another! God Bless- Kara Lea

  1. I've found the same thing. I think it's partly due to being a stress reliever and the other part due to just plain old wearing ourselves out! Either way...it's a good thing!

Keep up the great work because it's worth it!

  2. I feel a bit of both afterwards I think. I feel more awake and "on", but also more calm and content. :)

  3. I think I feel relaxed because it de-stresses me, because of the endorphins, and the feeling of accomplishment. But then I also feel ready to tackle what I need to next. I have noticed that if I don't exercise for a week, my over all energy goes down.

  4. I feel exhausted when I am losing weight. It's a lot of work and takes a toll. Hmmm...right after a workout I think I actually do feel energized though..

  6. Immediately after, I usually feel quite a bit of energy - but it does slow down after a while, especially if I've had a particularly intense workout.

  7. I think it depends for me...if it's a relaxing workout, like a walk, then I do feel like taking a nap or something similar. But if I've been dancing or doing a Jillian video, I am definitely energized afterwards.

  8. Totally different each time. Sometimes I feel like I'm walking on clouds, sometimes, I'm so tired I could sleep. Sometimes my body hums. Strange I know, can't explain it. Most times I feel greatly accomplished and happy!

    Keep at it!! So beneficial!!

    Stay focused!

  9. I wish I could relax after a workout. I end up feeling very wired which is normally a good thing, except I work out in the evenings - around 9pm and need to go to sleep shortly thereafter!
