Exercise: A.M. or P.M. ?

The last 2 wks prior I have been exercising! For those of you who don't know my blog well . . . I don't like to purposefully exercise.  But I have committed to an App called C25K with my sister.  It's a training app to build your endurance for running.  Well, I don't run, so my version is a walk version; but none the less I'm doing it and have been faithfully.  And I really thought the weight would really come off.  Well it hasn't . . . until this week.  The only change has been the time of day in which I do it.  My initial 2 wks I exercised in the evening after dinner.  This week I've been doing it in the morning and I'm dropping weight!  I read some quick tips by Dr. Oz and one of his strategies is exercising in the morning.  Supposably revs up metabolism.  I'm beginning to wonder if that is true because it was for me this week unlike the 1st 2 wks and I'm not eating any differently. So . . . .

What has your experiences been?  Do you think working out in early in the day is more beneficial than working out in the evening?

Make one good choice today, it can lead to another! God Bless- Kara Lea

  1. I like morning just because it sets me up for success that day. I get a lot of energy after my cool down/shower. Last week, I did a night run and it killed me... I was stuck awake until 4am.

But morning or evening... I'd say it's good either way as long as you keep doing it.

  2. Yep, for the same reason that Nanette mentions, p.m. workouts make it very difficult for me to fall asleep. I think it's more important to figure out what works for you in the long run.

There was a time when I worked out at night and then just died as soon as my head would hit the pillow, but now I just get wired for couple of hours.

  3. I honestly believe that AM workouts improve calorie burn overall throughout the day...the thing is, I HATE getting up in the morning. I already fight the alarm just to get up for work!

I think about making this change (when I am working out) every single day when I work out! If I am going to take the time to do it, I want it to work ALL the magic it possibly can!

  4. I've heard the same thing...that a.m. workouts are better and especially working out on an empty stomach. I've recently switched from working out in the evenings to mornings and will have to see.

  5. I do both, so for me, I don't know what works best. I just really like to exercise in the morning, that way it's out of the way. If I wait until evening I will put if off for something else to do.

Keep up the great work and stay focused!
